steps you can take to strengthen your repetoire
of ability and understanding in this area.
This is related to general intelligence level but also one's personal
store and use of knowledge.
It is difficult to be mentally agile if you
have little knowledge; theoretical and concrete. The concept of 'mental agility'
includes the ability to
- grasp problems quickly
- think of several things
at once
- switch rapidly from one situation to another
- see
whole situation quickly (rather than ploughing all its components),
- 'think on one's feet'.
Given the hectic nature of much managerial
work these are particularly necessary qualities for success.
