General Admin. Dept. Media Relations Executive
Reports to: Trust Chief Executive

Job Summary:

The Media Relations Executive will work in conjunction with the Trust's senior executives to deveop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy. This will require building sound media contacts to ensure positive media coverage for the Trust's activities.


KEY JOB AREAS

Media Relations

  1. conduct a comprehensive review of media relations and provide a diagnostic report for the Board of Directors
  2. develop and implement a Trust media relations strategy
  3. provide a quarterly analysis of media coverage with recommendations to improve coverage
  4. arrange and publicise corporate events and host media representatives
  5. anticipating and responding to events by issuing press releases giving professional advice and guidance to other Trust managers
  6. co-ordinate press conferences as necessary
  7. provide in-house training on media relations and skills to Trust staff according to need
  8. establish robust relationships with key media representatives


Communications

  1. with directors and managers, prepare corporate and departmental promotional literature to support internal and external marketing initiatives liaising with printers as appropriate.
  2. provide specialist advice on writing copy for hospital communications and spress releases etc
  3. advise on the enhancement of internal communications with staff
  4. prepare and produce regular news bulletins for staff including team briefings
  5. develop and co-ordinate periodic staff communication questionnaires and provide bench-marking analysis for the Board
